You See the Product. We See the Progress.

This month, survivors at Bethesda House are continuing their work toward stability and independence through consistent, skill-building opportunities. One of these opportunities consists of our survivor-made items we sell through Purple Lotus.

While the public only sees the finished items, the deeper impact is found in the process. Through making these items, survivors are building confidence in their ability to complete tasks, and we are seeing a growing sense of pride in their work. One of the most noticeable areas of growth has been attention to detail—from carefully aligning logos, to ensuring clean and consistent presentation, to intentionally selecting coordinating charms for each bookmark design.

These practices are more than creative work. They reflect developing job skills such as consistency, time management, and focus. These skills will continue supporting progress toward independence and long-term employment readiness for life after Bethesda House.

Even in the quieter months, this work continues, and so does the growth happening in the lives of the survivors we serve.
